Boeing Vice President: Will invest in aviation equipment supply chain in Vietnam

The information was just released by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the sidelines of the APEC Trade Ministers Meeting and the Trade Ministers Meeting of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) in Detroit, USA. Three business strategic orientations of Boeing in Vietnam

Affirming the potential and important position of the Vietnamese market for Boeing’s business strategy, Boeing’s senior vice president said it had opened a representative office in Vietnam.

Steve Biegun also revealed more Boeing’s strategic business orientation in Vietnam, including Boeing’s deepening cooperation and commercial relations in the aviation field with airlines in Vietnam. .

Boeing will also cooperate in a number of specific areas, such as helicopters and transportation. In particular, this airline group will invest in developing the supply chain of aviation spare parts and equipment in Vietnam.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien highly appreciated Boeing Corporation’s desire to build a strategic cooperation relationship in the Vietnamese market.

He also wishes to cooperate more deeply with Vietnam to develop the aviation ecosystem. This will also help promote bilateral trade between the two countries.

According to him, a number of suppliers in Vietnam have been supporting the production of some Boeing commercial aircraft components such as some parts, components, aircraft interiors and composites.

However, enterprises that can participate in the aerospace supply chain still mainly come from foreign-invested enterprises of the US, Japan, Korea… Vietnamese pure enterprises only produce small components, added value is not high.

Therefore, Mr. Dien said that Boeing’s investment in Vietnam in the coming time should make a positive contribution to create a stronger spillover effect on improving the production and manufacturing capacity of Vietnamese enterprises.
 

Building a cooperation framework to promote the aviation supporting industry

Mr. Dien said that from 2020, the aerospace industry has been included in the list of high-tech industries prioritized for investment and development by Vietnam. In the mechanical engineering industry, Vietnam has formed large, capable pure Vietnamese corporations.
 

Notably, these businesses are willing to invest in research and development, machinery and equipment to pursue larger goals in the field of high technology and can completely become potential partners. future capabilities of Boeing.

Mr. Dien affirmed his willingness to coordinate with strategic partners such as Boeing in designing a favorable cooperation framework, ensuring the sustainable development of the aviation supporting industry in Vietnam.

At the same time, the cooperation helps Vietnamese suppliers to gradually join Boeing’s global value chain, helping Boeing realize its strategic goals and long-term vision.
 


 

Boeing will send senior personnel to Vietnam

Mr. Dien suggested that Boeing Corporation further accelerate the development of suppliers in Vietnam. Build specific connection and support projects; spend time surveying, working and consulting for supporting industry enterprises to meet the requirements set forth by the company.

He also suggested that Boeing send experts to support businesses in personnel training and technology transfer when they meet all conditions.

In response, Boeing Corporation accepted the invitation of the minister and sent senior personnel to participate in the event connecting international suppliers – Vietnam Sourcing 2023 organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in September in Ho Chi Minh City, introduce and seek cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese enterprises in Boeing’s global value chain.
